Subject: FYIHello Shipmate, My name is Glenn Marowski, and I was stationed aboard the USS TheodoreRoosevelt (SSBN 600) Blue as a Sonar Tech. Although I have been out ofthe Navy for over ten years, I am still greatly interested in Submarines, and am quite proud of my service. Anyway, the whole reason I’m writtingis to congratulate you on a fine web site, well done!!. Also to add alittle trivia to your collection. On October 3, 1979, the USS Theodore Roosevelt (SSBN 600) Blue Crewcompleted it’s 600th successful dive, off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii.(I was there, and have the photo to prove it!) Any info you could help me dig up on the old Teddy R, pics, articles, etc… would be more than greatfully accepted. Even a nudge in the rightdirection. But above all keep up the good work!! Man Battle Stations Missle for WSRT !!!!! One other thing you might add to your list of Submarine Facts, is thedefinition of a “Successful Patrol”. I always thought that “coming up asmany times as you go down” was probably the best explaination I everheard. And this came from my CO, LCDR P.G. Klintworth. Have a good day.

Hello Mr. Spitzer,Just wanted to say that you have a great spread on the web.My Uncle is active Navy right now- hes a Submariner too. And that alsoMy grandfather is retired. So the Navy is a big part in my life. Ithink that the “Little KNown Facts about Submarines” and the rest of itis excellent. And I was wondering if I coul link your page to my Websitefor a reference to this, the best branch of the military? Please let meknow…Tim Fredericksen Jr.Skyfire@ivic.netSubject: Re: Web Pages No problem! I mean, the NAVY rocks so much. There needs to be morepeople in the service that make their presence known on the WWW! Itsfunny how you wrote yourname to: Thats my Uncles last name, sometimeshow he replies. Well thank you again for the link-permission. WIlldefinately do, my page is not fully complete yet, but its on the WWW,once I get the correct address for it, I will let you know, adn you cantell me what you think of my “Navy” section. Have a great day. Tim FredericksenSkyfire@ivic.net

However,I am trying to find out exactly who is Henry M. Jackson. Seeingas how you were stationed aboard a ship named in his honor, possiblyyou could enlighten me as to just who he is and what he did. I amnot really up on my U.S. history so anything you know wouldbe appreciated. Thank you. E-mail me at your earliest convenience

From: John ShorterOrganization: Penn State NROTCSubject: (no subject) Hey, I just got off the Jackson Blue. I’m at Penn State Universityteaching ROTC. She’s a really hot running boat now. Both crews justgot above average on TRE’s preceded by Above Average on ORSE’s. Itlooks like she’ll finally get her Battle ‘E’ she has deserved for solong. The Gold crew skipper is now Capt Stewart, the tomahawk shooterfrom the USS Louisville. The Blue crew skipper is Capt Conrad Donahue,an outstanding man who has a wonderful sense of humor. Two real starCO’s. Let me know if you want any pictures of the boat, I have about 50that I could scan in for you.John Shorter

I enjoyed seeing your webpage about the boat and about the Submarine Force. I am currently onthe Newport News (SSN-750). I will separate from the Navy on Dec 1,1996 after 14 years. (Sounds crazy – but I have a plan!). Check outthe following site: http://www.dmv.com/~monogram/subs.htm This was put together by a guy up in Ocean City, MD. He and a group ofpeople in MD have adopted the boat and have done great things for us. Good luck – I wish I had never left the Trident community. Howard Waxman
